Two digital avatars animated by Dean and Dan in motion capture opened the show dedicated to the presentation of Fall Winter 2023.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Opening Video for DSQUARED2 FW23 Fashion Show\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Rkl0IJt3VyY?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>Dean e Dan<\/strong>, the creative directors of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dsquared2.com\/it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dsquared2<\/a><\/strong>, opened the latest show in Milan dedicated to the presentation of <strong>Fall Winter 2023<\/strong> by personally animating the two digital models who were the protagonists of the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Leading this project is <strong>Alex Tacchi<\/strong>, CEO of <em>Full Frame Figure<\/em>, the first virtual production house based in Milan. The idea and creative direction dedicated to this project involved the digital realization of a \"dream\", in particular the dream of a boy who begins to fantasize and imagine that two twins are right there with him from his bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-3-1024x684.webp\" alt=\"dsquared alex tacchi wondar studios\" class=\"wp-image-4169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-3-980x655.webp 980w, https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-3-480x321.webp 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dsquared2 at Fall Winter 2023: how the digital models were created<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The two <strong>3D models<\/strong> were first adapted by Alessio Albanesi, a 3D generalist and Unreal Engine specialist, following the artistic direction of Dsquared2 and customized by adding some details of the brand's new collection. Secondly, they were placed in a <strong>3D environment<\/strong>, whose lighting resembled a classic heavenly dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The fact that the protagonists of the scene were two required the management of two <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/en\/motion-capture\/\" target=\"_self\">complete <strong>motion capture<\/strong> setups<\/a> and the simultaneous acting of Dean and Dan. Both tracking systems, <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/en\/servizi\/\" target=\"_self\">managed by the team of the Italian motion capture start-up <strong>Wondar Studios<\/strong><\/a> and composed of Xsens suits, Manus gloves and facial tracking, were displayed in real-time in the digital environment in Unreal Engine, in order to provide the whole team with a semi-final idea of what the final render would be like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-1-1024x684.webp\" alt=\"dsquared alex tacchi wondar studios\" class=\"wp-image-4167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-1-980x655.webp 980w, https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-1-480x321.webp 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interview with Alex Tacchi: \"Motion capture opens up new possibilities\"<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We asked Alex Tacchi to share some curiosities with us about this type of virtual production and what the future developments of this technology could be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What do you think are the potentials of these types of virtual sets?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I <strong>set virtuali<\/strong> come questo, dove non ci sono interazioni con l\u2019ambiente reale e tutto si svolge in un mondo completamente 3D, sono molto diversi da quelli su cui sono abituato a lavorare in Virtual Production: qui non ci sono limiti fisici legati all\u2019ingombro dello schermo LED che solitamente si trova alle spalle dei soggetti che riprendo e, non essendoci scenografia, tutto risulta meno complicato sia per noi della troupe che per gli attori\/modelli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The potentials are literally infinite: there is greater flexibility both in design and execution, and storytelling crosses the boundary between the real and virtual world, pushing towards choices that in the past would never have been considered both in terms of timing and budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Can you tell us some curiosities that these productions entail compared to a normal video production? And what are the aspects that allow you to experiment the most?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This technology opens up new possibilities and opportunities compared to traditional video production, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">1. <strong>greater control<\/strong> over lighting and environment;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">2. more freedom in <strong>scenery<\/strong>: virtual sets can be created, modified and manipulated in real time, offering unlimited creative possibilities;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">3. no physical limitation on <strong>camera movements<\/strong> or <strong>angles<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">4 .more efficient and economical <strong>pre-visualization<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">5. <strong>remote<\/strong> collaboration: it allows multiple actors and crews to be in the same virtual space, even from different physical locations;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">6. real-time <strong>playback<\/strong> and <strong>special effects<\/strong> are associated with the realistic movements of characters\/actors: everything happens in front of the entire crew's eyes, allowing greater collaboration among the various departments and improving the overall quality of the final product;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">7. <strong>cost<\/strong> savings: eliminates the need for expensive physical sets, props, and costumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-2-1024x684.webp\" alt=\"dsquared2 alex tacchi wondar studios\" class=\"wp-image-4168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-2-980x655.webp 980w, https:\/\/staging.wondarstudios.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/dsquared-alex-tacchi-wondar-studios-2-480x321.webp 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Working with motion capture suits in a virtual environment is truly innovative and exciting. Working in virtual, the ability to see 3D scenes and actors' movements in <strong>real time<\/strong> can offer more opportunities for improvisation, as the technology allows for a more fluid and flexible creative process.
